Fraser Fir are primary used as a Christmas tree because of their symmetrically pyramidal shape and their sturdy branches are straight and usually angled upward from the trunk. They have superb needle retention. Fraser Fir are dense when they are young but space out more with age. The foliage is arranged spirally on the twigs but twisted at the base to spread in two rows. The needles are dark green to glaucous green on top, often with a small patch of stoma near the tip, and with two silvery white stoma bands on the underside.
